We help Hilton deliver multilingual safety and security documents across global properties
Hilton, a leading multinational hospitality company with thousands of properties worldwide, required the localization of extensive safety and security documentation to ensure compliance across diverse regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). These documents encompassed health and safety policies, natural disaster protocols, and hotel security guidelines, all vital for maintaining global operational standards.
Key Benefits for Hilton
Efficient translation of over 80,000 words within a four-week timeframe.
Consistency in terminology and style across all localized materials.
Delivery of fully localized, print-ready materials by the client’s deadlines.
Streamlined workflow with dedicated project management and linguistic sign-off.
Enhanced compliance and peace of mind through accurate local language variants.
Hilton’s Safety and Security department oversees the implementation of critical policies and procedures across all properties globally. To ensure compliance and operational effectiveness, these guidelines needed to be accurately translated into multiple languages for regions such as Europe, Asia, and MENA. The documents varied in format, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign, and covered topics from natural disaster responses to daily safety protocols.
Global Lingo commenced the project by analyzing the materials, totaling over 100 pages and 80,000 words. Clear deadlines and milestones were established in collaboration with Hilton. A core team of linguists was selected, and key terminology and stylistic preferences were agreed upon to ensure adherence to Hilton’s corporate tone from the outset. This proactive approach minimized linguistic changes and expedited the translation process.
To meet tight deadlines, translation tasks were distributed among linguists, with files delivered on a rolling basis. This allowed client reviewers and desktop publishers to commence typesetting while translations were ongoing. A single proofreader per language ensured consistency across all content. An additional linguistic sign-off was conducted to verify the accuracy and formatting of the final layouts.
Through this structured approach, Global Lingo successfully translated over 80,000 words in four weeks, delivering fully localized, print-ready materials ahead of schedule. This enabled Hilton to deploy the documents across their hotels promptly, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
