Global Lingo actively utilizes Translation memory (TM) technology to improve linguistic consistency and quality, reduce delivery times and lower translation costs for our clients through reuse of previously translated content.

When preparing a translation project, we analyse the content. The translation memory will automatically detect:

– Repeated content present in the document(s) to translate
– Content which is identical to text previously translated
– Content which is similar to text previously translated

While our linguists translate new content, the TM will automatically suggest matches with identical or similar content stored in the TM itself.

  • Improved linguistic consistency and quality: As new content is translated, our linguists are automatically prompted as to how a segment was previously translated, or how a similar prior segment was translated.   • Reduction in delivery times: As more content is available within the translation memory, this will reduce translation times as our linguists are prompted to use more and more content
  • Reduction in review and feedback during client review stages: When feedback or amendments are provided, Global Lingo ensures these are systematically updated in our translation memories. This ensures the linguistic preferences are captured for use in future translation, whereby review of the same segment does not need to take place again

Feedback and linguistic preferences can be provided via offline options as well as our online translation review platform (TMS). This allows clients to provide feedback in real time and directly on our online editing tool. This will aid in providing feedback without hassle and avoiding the risks associated with manual file updating and content transfer.

Global Lingo utilizes the latest and most widely available translation memory tool which supports easy import of translation memory content for any other tool available. We are also able to build a translation memory using previously translated content. This allows a client to benefit from improved quality and cost discounts by leveraging any legacy content/previously translated content available.
