We’re proud to announce that we have been awarded both the ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management standards. This means that our internal quality procedures are now fully audited and recognised to international standards; it also ensures that the company’s environmental impact is minimised.
“This is much more than just another set of logos for the Global Lingo letterhead; this is another important step in our march to providing our customers with high quality language services”, said Andrew Trotter, our Managing Director.
“In a world where providing an expert service and demonstrating an awareness of our environmental impact is vital, having clear standards to work to and exceed is the only way to ensure that our business grows. In the recent past too many companies have fallen by the wayside because they have failed to provide their customers with services they can rely on. In the language business you’re only as good as your last job, and we intend to make everything we provide of the highest quality possible. Using the ISO methodology will help us achieve that.”
Reducing our Environmental impact
Global Lingo is one of the few language companies to achieve both ISO standards. The Environmental award is an essential move to minimise our carbon footprint. We achieve this by making the best use of technology, which allows us to run a virtually paperless office. This involves the issue of laptops to all staff so that they can work from home when appropriate and the use of web conferencing tools, both of which help to reduce the amount of travel required to run the business.
We recently won the contract to provide transcription services for the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting at Davos, which requires us to provide a 24 hour turnaround of sessions at the conference. We also provide these services for The Prime Minister’s Office as well as for major Financial and Banking customers.
