Every year Global Lingo nominates a charity they would like to work with. For 2017 Global Lingo donated to the Bryan Adams Foundation’s project to renovate a central London primary school’s playground.
Global Lingo’s Chairman and Owner, Andrew Trotter having seen the good work Bryan’s Foundation had been doing over the years immediately thought of the Foundation when looking for a charity for 2017. ‘As soon as Bryan told me about the Ashburnham project I knew it would be the perfect choice for Global Lingo. The school is only a mile from our London office and we thought it would be wonderful to see the direct results from our donations bringing so much happiness to local children.’
Well loved in its community
Ashburnham School is an outstanding performer and well loved by its community, but had a very basic playground that was also deemed unsafe. As a local Bryan noticed this, and thought how the school would really benefit from an outdoor space that the children would enjoy and be proud of. With the help of Foster and Partner Architects, designs were drawn up and ideas put on paper.
What a difference a year makes
A year later, the results are staggering, as can be seen from the photos of the opening ceremony of the playground. Global Lingo is extremely proud to have been involved with such a rewarding and uplifting project. “To see the delighted faces of the children of Ashburnham at the ceremony was such a pleasure, and we would very much like to stay in touch with the school, perhaps helping the children understand more about the importance of world languages.”
