10 March 2020, Sydney – Global Lingo is pleased to announce its Asia Pacific expansion, with the addition of an Australian office in Sydney.
Deborah Nicholas joined Global Lingo’s Asia Pacific team in January 2020 as Business Development Director and is set to cover the Australia and New Zealand regions. Deborah’s background is in Conference Interpreting and Translation, and she has worked in the language industry for many years in various roles. Since moving to Australia, at the end of 1999 to see in the millennium, Deborah has worked as Business Operations Manager for Appen, leading the Transcription and Translation teams to develop speech recognition (ASR), and Machine Translation, and most recently as Business Development Manager and Account Director for SDL.
Deborah’s experience in varied roles, from Project Management and Operations, to Sales and Account Management in different sectors of the Language industry, (Translation, Interpreting, Transcription, Speech Recognition, and Machine Translation), working with clients in EMEA, USA, APAC and ANZ, has provided her with a multi-faceted knowledge of the industry.
It is an exciting time for Global Lingo to move into the ANZ region, and establishing a base here, along with the recent addition of an office in Guatemala, it allows Global Lingo to provide round-the-clock coverage worldwide. The office in Sydney will allow Global Lingo to provide local support to existing clients in Australia and New Zealand, as well as providing a platform to develop new business in the region. Global Lingo already has a broad portfolio of clients in various industries, and a well-established reputation as a quality provider of services for the eLearning, Market Research and Web-conferencing sectors.
