2020 CSR Activities
Another year, another chance to make a difference. Our teams have chosen new local charities to support in 2020.
This is how we plan to make a difference…
2019 CSR Program
We are launching our first official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program this year.
As a growing business, we feel that 2019 is the right time to step up beyond the adhoc fundraising events of years past and offer ongoing and sustained support to charitable organisations in each of our office locations globally.
March 2019 – Pret Foundation Grand Auction
As Pret A Manger’s global localisation/translation supplier, we were delighted to offer a piece of pop culture memorabilia for their annual auction… we had a good friend sign a rather special item for this wonderful cause.
December 2018 – Shoebox Appeal
Christmas is the time of giving, and who would be more deserving than local children.
Our Cluj team have been busy collecting and wrapping presents to give to a local Children’s charity – “Shoebox”
Well done team – there will undoubtedly be some happy little faces on Christmas Day!
June 2018 – Three Peaks Challenge
On Saturday, 23rd June, six of our most athletic Glingos took on the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Duchenne UK.
People flew in from all over the world to take part in this challenge and contribute to this worthy cause. With representatives from our UK, Germany, Romania and US offices, the goal was to raise £5,000.
This served as motivation for the team to complete this challenge in under 24 hours – not an easy task. Very well done to everyone!
December 2017 – Global Lingo builds new school playground with Bryan Adams Foundation
For 2017 Global Lingo donated to the Bryan Adams Foundation’s project to renovate a central London primary school’s playground.
Global Lingo’s Chairman and Owner, Andrew Trotter immediately thought of the Bryan’s Foundation when looking for a charity for 2017.
‘As soon as Bryan told me about the Ashburnham project I knew it would be the perfect choice for Global Lingo. The school is only a mile from our London office and we thought it would be wonderful to see the direct results from our donations bringing so much happiness to local children.’
September 2013 – Global Lingo sleep out for Simon on the Streets
On 26th September, Andrew Trotter, Jonny Bates and Richard Michie slept on the streets of Leeds to help raise money and awareness for Simon on the Streets.
Simon on the Streets is an independent charity offering emotional and practical support on a outreach basis to rough sleepers or those at risk of rough sleeping.
We raised £2,438.92!
