The ideal candidate

Skilled and experienced translation project manager able to manage all assigned projects in the most efficient manner possible in order to ensure client retention, satisfaction and repeat revenue growth and assess potential new business. Through effective written and verbal communication ensure that project teams are clear to the scope, complexity and expectations of clients for all projects and that the clients are kept fully informed as to the progress, position and financial status of their projects. Experience in e-learning translation or the e-learning industry would be a big plus.

Job Responsibilities

Taking the lead on project management of big revenue and complex projects, supported and guided by the Translation Team Leader, including:

  1. To manage the largest and most complex projects/accounts, having overall responsibility for revenue, profitability, schedule, methodology and deliverables. Ensuring client satisfaction while achieving an acceptable profit level. The main aim is to ensure repeat business from clients and to add real value.
  2. Identification and escalation of technology/service opportunities which will lead to the either direct revenue for Global Lingo or more efficient processing of work internally.
  3. Management of assigned accounts including the compilation of account plans, proposals, quotations and process documents and the management and co-ordination of all stakeholders both internally and externally.
  4. To oversee, line-manage, mentor and develop assigned project managers, with overall responsibility for revenue, growth, quality, service levels, and schedule, ensuring client satisfaction and achieving an acceptable level of profitability. The main aim is to obtain repeat levels of business from clients.
  5. Develop business opportunities and account growth from clients by regular and consistent contact, including on-site, with clients checking on satisfaction levels, issues, concerns, potential developments in clients’ needs and requirements.
  6. Take responsibility for LQIs for existing clients by co-ordinating proposals and bid estimates and by attendance at all relevant meetings and calls.
  7. Keep the Team Lead informed about account progress/issues at all times.
  8. Ensure that escalation is done early to get the right level of support and make sure that the project managers in each team do this also. Monitor the projects, ensuring that client objectives are clearly understood and owned, and any resource or quality issues are escalated immediately.
  9. Full financial management of assigned accounts including revenue forecasting each month, delivery of budget revenue, project budget management each week, delivery of account profitability against agreed targets and developing and implementing revenue/profitability improvement plans.

What you’ll need

  • 2-5 years’ experience in managing localisation projects
  • Experience in managing accounts and client relationships with key customers
  • Experience in managing e-learning translation projects would be a big plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, including development and delivery
  • Ability to create structured account plans and identify key actions required to grow
  • accounts assigned.
  • Good knowledge of all aspects of localisation including internationalisation, development cycles, Engineering, DTP, graphics, translation, testing, Multimedia, translation and workflow tools and process
