Function Objectives

Working alongside Senior Management and Operations Departments to enhance Global Lingo’s current Business Management Platform, creating a fully comprehensive Translation Management System (‘TMS’). This person will be the primary contact point for the newly appointed software company (‘NAS’) and the existing Business Management Platform provider (‘BMP’). This role will be expected to act as liaison point between the company and the NAS and BMS as we work through the technology implementation phase to the final launch.

In addition, this person will be responsible for devising and delivering a training plan for all internal staff across our four locations: London, Cluj-Napoca, Singapore and Chicago. This will involve composing all materials in support of the training plan. This person will act as an ongoing liaison with NAS and BMS in managing a ticketing system for bugs and technical issues, and ongoing development requests.

Job Responsibilities

Software Implementation and Platform Integration

  • Define the architecture roadmap – aligned to business objectives.
  •  Validate the workflows and implementations – before launch of platform to stakeholders.
  • Analyze departmental needs and transform them into technical designs – applying technical skills and business knowledge to achieve sound results.
  • Leading the discussion with NAS committee and Information Security personnel – explain the proposed solution and manage risks.
  • Ensure successful integration of TMS into the Global Lingo operating platform – project management of the full project lifecycle, working with all external and internal stakeholders to agree methodology and timeline.
  • In conjunction with internal stakeholders – manage and track both budget and time by identifying, and mitigating against, potential scope creep and project delays.
  • Escalation point for TMS and BMS system issues – working closely with the Senior Management team and Client Services Departments (‘Stakeholders’) raise technical and functional issues with software providers.
  • Monitor speed of ticket resolution by providers – ensure fixes are working before informing project management and operations
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to clients and internal stakeholders – for system issues and resolution.
  • Application Programming Interface (API) – be the point person and take the lead in liaising between software providers and the client for the development of new APIs. Analyze full functional requirement and present the Return on Investment (ROI) to internal stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with Clients – be the subject matter expert on the new integrated platform work with clients to build understanding of and trust in the new platform.

Training

  • Pre and Post launch – act as Trainer for impacted employees, ensure a seamless transition from the existing platform to a new integrated platform. Provide training using a variety of methods including on-site classroom and web-based methods.
  • Create and keep updated all necessary training manuals and documentation –own all material for training both internal ‘actors’ and clients.
  • Deliver ongoing training and refreshers – for new employees as well as existing global staff following each software upgrade or ‘patch’.
  • Work with Global Lingo clients – provide training for appropriate functions of the integrated platform e.g. client portal, on-line review capability, data extraction for reporting and API connections etc.

About you

You will have excellent project management skills and experience working with customers, subject matter experts and colleagues within the Language Services Industry. You will have an excellent grasp of the challenges faced when launching a new Translations Management System (TMS) as part of an integrated operating platform.

With an attention to detail and a technical understanding you can work effectively with all stakeholders during the inception, planning, and delivery phases of the project, providing robust project tracking and high-quality project documentation and communications. You enjoy solving problems, breaking down project deliverables into manageable tasks and delivering effective solutions to both internal stakeholders and clients.
